Introducing the Visium CytAssist – a powerful platform designed to bridge histology and genomics for spatial discovery
Gold Medicals presents the Visium CytAssist, a compact instrument engineered to streamline the Visium workflow by enabling seamless transfer of transcriptomic probes from standard glass slides to Visium slides. This system delivers whole transcriptomic spatial profiling across entire tissue sections with expanded compatibility for both formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded (FFPE) and fresh frozen (FF) samples.
Simplified Sample Management The process begins with a slide. The Visium CytAssist supports starting from FFPE blocks or pre-sectioned FFPE and fresh frozen tissues on standard glass slides, allowing full integration into existing histology workflows without disruption.
Expanded Sample Access Compatible with H&E or immunofluorescence (IF) stained FFPE or FF tissue sections, the instrument enables use of pre-stained and pre-sectioned samples in combination with Visium Capture Area slides measuring either 6.5 x 6.5 mm or 11 x 11 mm.
Maximized Spatial Insights Users can pre-screen tissue sections to identify the most biologically relevant regions. The system then supports precise manual alignment of these selected areas onto the Visium Capture Areas, ensuring optimal coverage and enhanced visualization of critical tissue features.
Seamless Workflow Integration The Visium CytAssist is designed for compatibility with standard histology protocols including sectioning, tissue preparation, staining (H&E or IF), and imaging—all performed on conventional glass slides—before probe transfer to the Visium slide. This ensures smooth integration into routine laboratory operations across research and diagnostic applications.
Clinical & Research Applications Ideal for use in pathology labs, translational research units, genomics centers, and academic institutions focused on spatial biology, immunology, oncology, neurology, and tissue-based biomarker discovery.
